 Brighton Beach
Brighton Beach returns to Sheffield on Saturday 3rd May when we kick off our residency at the city’s newest venue, Carling Academy Sheffield.

There’s been huge speculation about the future of Sheffield Brighton Beach over the last few months following our final night at the City Hall, and we’ve received a barrage of emails and calls from people demanding to know what’s happening! Several venues have approached us, but one venue towered above the rest, the new Carling Academy. This offer arrived with perfect timing.

Brighton Beach launched in Sheffield sex city back in 1996 during the frenzied heights of the Britpop revolution and now it’s back at Sheffield’s most exciting new live music venue, celebrating indie, Britpop, classic 60’s Soul, R’n’B and garage. We hope to be making full use of the venue’s incredible live capability at our forthcoming nights, which will take place on the first Saturday of every month.

Since its inaugural event in Leeds, some thirteen years ago, Brighton Beach has reached legendary status after becoming the hang-out of choice for the faces of the 90s, including Britpop bands Supergrass and The Bluetones (who would often plug in their amps for secret frenzied gigs). Now, after constantly packing out venues in Leeds, Leicester and Newcastle every month, Brighton Beach returns to Sheffield.

We’ll be retaining the classic Brighton Beach music policy, with two rooms of pounding 60s soul, garage, indie, Northern Soul and Britpop set to a backdrop of psychedelic visuals and cult 60’s films. Whilst DJ duo Rob Henderson and Tinna Crowther head up the main room, Academy 2 will welcome monthly guests from the British Mod & 60s scene alongside resident Gav Needham and a bunch of beautiful, priceless 45s.

Join us as Brighton Beach rides again!
 Teenage Kicks
Teenage kicks is a new night for Wednesdays combining the best indie music of the last thirty years with the ultra modern sounds of dirty electro house that is Cheek.

Officially the cheapest Wenesday night in Sheffield with a variety of drinks starting from as little as 60p.

Wednesday nights have just got a whole lot better.
